What are installation and use conditions of diaphragm gas meter?

The diaphragm gas meter is a volumetric meter with optimized flow and low pressure absorption. it is called a diaphragm gas meter because the internal metering chamber adopts a rubber membrane mechanism for gas metering. Due to its features such as accurate measurement and good stability, this type of meter is currently widely used in domestic natural gas metering. At the same time, due to the volumetric metering principle and the structure of the internal membrane module, there are certain requirements for installation and use conditions. The specific requirements are as follows:

Installation Requirements

1) Number of installation

A. Each residents using pipeline gas should set up a separate gas metering device, only one gas meter, and a centralized display metering device should be used for civil buildings;

B. The users living in public housing should install at least one gas meter in each billing unit. If the billing unit is different, a separate meter can be installed separately.

2) Environmental requirements

A. The gas meter should be installed in a dry, well-ventilated place where the air temperature is not less than 0℃, and is easy to check and repair the meter (diaphragm gas meter);

B. It is strictly forbidden to install gas meters in bedrooms, bathrooms, steam boiler rooms, storage places for dangerous and flammable products, and places similar to the above;

C. Gas meters for the users living in public housing and industrial users should be installed in separate rooms;

D. The IC card gas meter is equipped with an electronic control module, so it cannot be installed in damp, rainy and sun-dried places.

3) Gas meter requirements

A. Factory certificate;

B. No obvious damage to the appearance;

C. No more than half a year from the factory calibration date.

Basic requirements for the use of diaphragm gas meters

1. The content of impurities in clean gas and fuel gas should not be too high and should meet the requirements of the "City Gas Design Code". If the content of impurities is too high, it will affect the service life and measurement accuracy of the gas meter;

2. It is suitable for low-pressure gas pipeline network, and the applicable pressure is generally not more than 5kpa;

3. The ambient temperature of the gas meter should be higher than 0°C when artificial gas and natural gas are used; when liquefied petroleum gas is used, it should be higher than its dew point by 5°C.
